We have never traditionally recruited in this field but with growing demand are delighted that Jane Markey has recently joined us with a brief to focus on this market. Jane is a skilled and experienced HR and recruitment professional who has worked with a number of high profile clients.
Within her own consultancy business she has worked supporting some major recruitment and selection campaigns, including working closely with a major graduate recruiter for FTSE 100 companies delivering highly structured volume assessment.
She advised a Local Authority on a number of issues, including how to develop innovation within the workplace and additionally has worked on an organisational design project for a major outsourcing company.
In a previous role as an Associate Director with Capita Resourcing she was responsible for managing many of the major client relationships such as British Airways, BAA, London Fire and Rescue Services and Essex County Council. She was responsible for the development and delivery of HR services, mainly recruitment, to stretching service level agreements often working as an outsourced provider managing teams delivering work on client sites, as well as within the company.
In her new role with us she has already chalked up some great success. A major facilities management company who came to us with one graduate vacancy has been so impressed by the quality of the candidates Jane has provided that they have already taken on three as employees and are asking for more.
She supports the candidates through a highly structured and rigorous process in a way that allows them to demonstrate their skills, talent and potential and not be tripped up by lack of interview or life experience.
Recruiting talent is an ongoing problem especially for industries that don’t have an immediate glamour.
My colleague Iain Cooper observed following his recent trip to the automotive logistics conference that while the auto OEMs have graduates’ attention – the less high profile businesses can unjustly be overlooked despite offering great training and career opportunities in highly dynamic industries.
