Collections Operations Manager - Consumer Motor Finance



This is a great opportunity to join a “customer first” business. This position will be key to helping the organisation continue to deliver this as a culture throughout the business. This role will be a key part of the senior management team and requires an an experienced operational manager.  It will  essentially be office based,  although there is some flexibility here - however as  it is a team management role, on-site will be required the majority of the time. Parking is available on site. 

The Role 

This is a new roles, created as part of the expansion and development of the business.  Managing a team of circa 25, you will be responsible for managing this area of the business, building relationships with the credit risk strategy team to actively build strategies, and processes that work in tandem and fit compliance/regulatory requirements and deliver great customer outcomes. You will have complete responsibility for all collections activity for live active and frozen agreements (written off) from 1-day arrears until the point at which the agreement is recovered, passed for alternative action or sold. You will take your team with you on a journey to constantly drive improvement and sharpen customer focus.

The Business

Our client is  a Hire Purchase lender on vehicles introduced through third party brokers and an introducer specialising in the near-prime customer segment.    The business is currently a  team of 100, all based in the same office and all key processes are completed internally.  They are well established and are wholly owned by one of the largest privately owned businesses in the UK.

About You

The successful candidate must have in depth knowledge of motor finance business, with a minimum of 5 years call centre management experience in collections in consumer credit, including detailed knowledge of all regulations relating to collections activity. Excel expertise is essential and experience as a SAS user is highly desirable.

Your detailed regulatory knowledge will include Vulnerable customers, Treating Customers Fairly and General FCA regulatory environment and the Consumer Credit Act

You are at team player with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including strong influencing and negotiation skills.  You have a huge commitment to providing a “customer first” focused service and have the ability to take your team with you on that journey.
